The Contemporary Art Practice (CAP) of the Royal Academy of Arts is a cutting-edge master's course of the College of Arts and Humanities. This course is driven by post media, critical art production and acceptance methods. The combination of theory and practice forms a new way to deal with the contemporary world. The program supports students to develop art practice in a responsive, conversational and critical context, focusing on broader political issues - examining art creation related to pressing socio political contexts, and questioning and redefining practice.

CAP supports ambitious, exploratory and research driven artists whose project expertise includes critical, speculative and social art practices, dynamic images, performance, writing and technical aesthetics.
Royal College of Art Our contemporary art practice method is not affected by technology or materials. Students use any possible media to create works: from images, devices and mobile image works, to publications and acoustic art, participatory activities, 3D modeling and VR, writing and performance. The program provides a flexible environment that supports collective and peer led learning.

This major requires submission of selected works from recent practice. All works can be in the same form (such as selected photographic works) or in different forms. Video or audio works should not exceed five minutes.
The school hopes to hear your views and thoughts on global, social and political issues; How your work and practice involve personal or global key issues; And how your art works solve this problem or respond to it.
What you need to know before applying
Candidates are admitted on a selective basis. Applications from all over the world are welcome. The selection process takes into account the creativity, imagination and innovation shown in your portfolio, as well as your potential to benefit from the project and meet high master's standards.
Candidates are usually expected to have a bachelor's degree in fine arts. You should be able to demonstrate an original and critical artistic approach, as well as an ability to participate in current artistic and cultural theories.
