Shi, Pixar's storyboard artist, is one of the many graduates of Sheldon College, whose works have been represented at the Academy Awards. In 1985, Jon Minnis (Animation '83) won the best animated short film award, while in 2003, Eric Armstrong (Computer Animation' 88) won the award for his work on Chubbchubbs! In 2015, three of the five films nominated for the Best Animated Feature category at the Academy Awards were directed by animators trained by Sheridan, including Chris Williams, who won the award for "Hero 6" that year.
