Project 1
Focus on temporary reuse. Faced with the accelerating urbanization process, people's quality of life is getting higher and higher, and many infrastructures have exposed serious problems. Almost few people will participate in the interaction of such infrastructures. Therefore, more and more designers have begun to consider designing movable and adaptable infrastructures to cope with the continuous "growth" of cities. In this project, our team should not only consider this point, but also make research and deployment on the long-term timeline planning, so as to make the infrastructure more creative and still have "vitality" in the future under the basic conditions of meeting the temporary reuse. This makes us position the stakeholders not only as ordinary people who are relatively lack of creativity around them, but as pioneers who are unique in universities/cities. Based on this, we carried out the final design strategy.
Project 2
In Project 2, our class was divided into two research directions. One was the Cairo Group in Egypt, Design Inclusion; The second is the German Berlin Group, Regeneration Strategies. I chose the Cairo group in Egypt. Then, a five-day field trip was launched. The city background is based on the study of Cairo's old city. There are three design sites in total, Cinema Rio, Rabbat building and Suq Bab AI Luq. Each site is in the charge of two teams. Our fourth team is in charge of Cinema Rio.
Before the design strategy was formulated, we conducted several surveys on the residents and environment around the site. In solving religious problems, we made a series of analyses on the principle of neither integrating religious elements nor touching the bottom line. In terms of how to revive the site, we have studied it from three perspectives: reborn, engagement and incremental. In the end, the design results not only include the businesses that benefit the surrounding areas, but also enable the culture of the old city of Egypt to be included, and also develop together with other cultures, and help the site achieve sustainable economic development, reducing the risk of further decline.
Sheffield University School of Architecture&School of Landscape Graduation Exhibition
The summer exhibition of the School of Architecture of the University of Sheffield is mainly from this year, Architectural design, urban design, sustainable architecture research, digital architecture and design The project assignments of four master's majors and some related undergraduate students, but because most of the major's graduation designs are carried out in the summer, few of the works are displayed. 2、 Feelings of studying abroad at Sheffield University
I am about to graduate, and the biggest feeling is that I have gained far more than my four-year undergraduate! When I first came here, I would also be afraid. In a foreign country, far away from my former friends and relatives, I came alone. No one shared the beautiful scenery, nor told me about my sadness. However, over time, I got used to it. Yes, I got used to it in about a day or two. It was totally different from the perception that I had to leave a year before I got used to it. After the first time of being alone, I met new classmates and made new friends in the class, and everything became relatively smooth.
This year, I traveled to many countries and saw the customs of different regions. I deeply believe that life is the best teacher. It is better to travel thousands of miles than to read thousands of books. Of course, there is no delay in learning, but it is not limited to the ivory tower of the school. Going to the field to see the Holy Family Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre mentioned in the book will have an indescribable feeling. After all, it is close to the ancient Roman civilization of Italy and the ancient Greek civilization of Athens, and the price is relatively moderate. Don't waste the good time of the Christmas holiday and Easter holiday.
This year's study is also very compact, and there is no legend that the British one-year master's degree is very good. No matter which college it is, most of the students work hard in the library, and basically prepare a lot of materials and tutors every week. I am also very satisfied.
