Parsons admitted cases and won grand slam online

Art is her way of observing the world and expressing herself. The pursuit of free and professional learning channels is the only reason why she went to the United States to study and choose natural light at the age of 15. Cloud based teaching+12 hours of time difference, with the trust and creative enthusiasm between teachers and students, to eliminate objective obstacles and efficiently complete learning tasks. A complete set of works covers four projects in two months.

The strong learning atmosphere of natural light and the "super high energy" learning plan have inspired the infinite possibilities of Jialu's artistic creation. The expression of love for artistic innocence is in the light of relaxed words. Behind the amazing achievements, there is more effort and accumulation day and night. Let's see the road to completion of the "Grand Slam with high awards"!

Go farther to appreciate different cultures and beauty

I have been very interested in art since I was young, and I have been learning to paint off and on. In my concept, art is a very free and self expressive way, so my ideas and creative methods often seem a bit "out of place" with other students.

When I was 15 years old, I decided to go to high school in the United States. One of the most important reasons was that I wanted to learn art in a freer way.

In these years of life, in addition to continuing to paint, I also came into contact with basketball, photography, music Have more hobbies. More importantly, I like traveling. I can take my camera to experience and record different cultures and beautiful moments. These valuable insights have added a lot of power to my creation.

In the process of creating a collection of works, the teacher often praised me for my inspiration and broad perspective. I believe this should be attributed to my life experience, which has given me a lot of inspiration and made my form of expression seem "informal".

Although separated by mountains and seas, online courses smooth all learning obstacles

My way of learning was not smooth. The biggest difficulty came from "too freedom", which led to my serious procrastination in the early stage and strong dependence on teachers.

I decided to come to the natural light before last summer vacation because I haven't had a holiday yet. The whole process from learning about the institution to signing up to taking classes is remote communication. My first impression of natural light is that it is highly professional, and it also fits in with the overseas education methods I am familiar with, so I make decisions quickly.

In the process of communicating with professional teachers, she developed a detailed curriculum plan for me based on my time and foundation. The first stage is to supplement the professional foundation, because my creation has always been "self entertainment". Although I have systematically learned some hand painting, there are still some deviations from the concept of graphic design.

The basic course stage was very helpful to me. It "standardized" many of my ideas and made me have a deeper understanding of this major. In addition, the online class resources for the basic courses of natural light are very rich. In addition to the online courses with teachers at ordinary times, she will often recommend me to take some video and broadcast courses of humanistic foundation and software skills, which leads to my rapid improvement at this stage.

Also because of the good sense of trust established in the early stage, during the summer vacation, because I do not live in Beijing, when it is inconvenient for me to come to the school, I will discuss with the teacher to arrange online classes to coordinate.

My professional teachers are very enthusiastic. They know that I am not self-conscious. They often spot check the progress of my work. When I fail to hand in my homework on time, they will also "severely" remind me that if I do not finish my homework next time, I will "add code" to it.

Under the supervision of the teacher, I also slowly corrected my lax learning attitude, and the creation of the collection of works soon got on track. The online class helped me to develop a good routine of going to bed early and getting up early, which really improved my efficiency.

   4 portfolio projects+observational painting

I usually think a lot and like to observe the details of life. So it is not difficult for me to choose the theme of the collection. The only difficulty is to choose the appropriate expression mode. I am willing to communicate with the teacher throughout the process, deepening my many ideas and making the theme really take shape.

In my collection of works, there are 4 projects and some observational paintings accumulated daily. The first project was inspired by a line of poetry by the poet Li Shangyin, which said that he met his lover when the lotus was in full bloom, but the lover died in the autumn when the lotus was withering.

This group of works, combining the techniques and artistic conception of traditional Chinese painting, uses watercolor to represent the lotus in different periods. The old style is used to emphasize the sadness of the lotus, the bright colors are used when the lotus is in full bloom, and the cross exhibition form is used to express the crisscross of time.

The second project is about fluid painting and weaving. I reorganize by selecting different colors, and add, delete, or integrate elements as needed. In the process of the experiment, I found an interesting phenomenon that the deconstruction and reorganization of painting can get rid of contingency and accurately meet my expectations, which is also a common feature of Pour Painting.

The third project is my favorite type of work and my first attempt. It is a group of packaging and book design to convey my understanding of fast food culture. In addition to food packaging, the inside pages of the book design also include "fast food culture" such as the hottest short videos, vlogs, social media and online short stories. I also created corresponding fonts and layout designs based on color and content.

The fourth project is about the earth pollution. I transformed the observation of land desertification, air pollution, global warming and plastic waste into collage design. I hope that the design can awaken people's attention to the real environmental problems around them, and do my best to protect our home from trivial matters.

In addition to the four groups of projects, professional teachers also suggested that I prepare some observational paintings after comprehensively considering the needs of the school and the integrity of the collection. Fortunately, I have a lot of "Tu Tu Tu Tu Tu" reserves, and after selection and modification with the teacher, I have completed many paintings that can reflect my own style.

A set of works in two months can also produce fine work by "quick work"

I officially started the creation of the collection of works from my return home in the summer vacation. Considering my last year of high school, and the problem that some places and materials are more convenient to purchase in China, I discussed with my teacher, hoping to make good use of the summer time, improve efficiency, and complete most of the works in the summer vacation as much as possible.

In the end, I was able to complete this task partly thanks to the "super high energy" learning plan that my teacher helped me develop. Since I hadn't returned to China, the teacher urged me to find the theme in advance, do as much research and material experiments as possible, and determine the final form of visual presentation.

As a result, my project has laid a solid foundation in the early stage, and there is almost no "rework" in the later stage of production and implementation. I have completed four projects in one go.

During the natural light class in the summer, I felt the learning atmosphere of other students. Everyone consciously and seriously created their own projects, and felt that they were doing what they liked. The natural happiness and positive state also encouraged me to join them and become a diligent "natural light student".

Secondly, the teachers of Natural Light are very professional. Because I often have some "jumping off" problems and hope to apply interdisciplinary methods to the creation, I try my best to participate in the practical activities and workshops organized by Natural Light, and get good suggestions and inspiration from teachers and students of different majors.

Seeking "official support" is my secret to success

After the intensive creative process, my portfolio project was basically completed, but "completion" was only the first step. In order to achieve higher quality of works, I began to refine and adjust the stage.

When I was about to return to school, my teacher recommended me to attend MICA Maryland College of the Arts This experience has also become a turning point in my application process. Through one-on-one communication with the admissions officer, I really learned what the college wanted, what the defects of its own portfolio were, and what details the admissions officer would pay attention to in the assessment.

These are the key points that I ignored when I was "free creation" before. I usually only consider a project on its own merits. I seldom jump out of the framework and return to the display of personal comprehensive ability to examine the entire collection of works, which also leads to some "disciplinary bias".

After summarizing the suggestions given by the admissions officer, I also returned to the United States with the "course assignment" assigned by the professional teacher, and continued to start online teaching. This time, my initiative was also well adjusted, and I quickly completed the task of improving the project.

Later, the teacher also encouraged me to take advantage of geographical advantages to attend Portfolio Day in colleges and universities. Because of the previous experience of "official guidance", not only the quality of the collection has been improved, but also I have become more confident in communicating with the admissions officer. Several offers were won on the spot~
