Can only women apply for the Japanese Women's University of Fine Arts? On the question of whether only women can apply for the Japanese Women's University of Fine Arts, it can be clear that its department (undergraduate) only enrolls women, but colleges (graduate students) can apply for both men and women.

   Specifically:

Department (undergraduate): According to information from multiple sources, the department of Japan Women's University of Fine Arts is only open to women, which is based on its founding philosophy of "making women independent through art, improving women's social status, and training women art educators". Therefore, only women can apply for and study at the school level.

College (postgraduate): Unlike the department, there is no gender restriction in the college of Women's University of Fine Arts, and both men and women can apply for the exam. This means that students who want to further study in the art field, regardless of gender, have the opportunity to enter the Women's University of Fine Arts for postgraduate study.

   College application:

Applicants need to have completed 16 years of education and obtained a bachelor's degree. If they do not meet the above conditions, they need to participate in the admission qualification examination.

You need to pass the EJU (Japanese Student Examination) with a Japanese score of more than 320 points, and record more than 40 points or JLPT (Japanese Rank Test) N1 level.

   College (established in 1994)

The college is coeducational, that is to say, male applicants are accepted at the graduate stage.

   Language requirements:

For foreign applicants, the school has high requirements for language, and applicants from the academic department need to submit valid scores from the Japanese Study Abroad Test (EJU) or Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). Among them, the EJU's reading and listening scores should be more than 320, and the writing scores should be more than 40; Or pass the N1 level certification of JLPT, and submit the corresponding certificate of achievement.

Application materials:

Application materials include ID card, passport, application form and resume, graduation certificate/in-service certificate of education, transcript, language ability certificate, electronic version of life photo, self introduction, language score and portfolio, etc.

To sum up, women are not the only ones who can apply for the examination in Japan Women's University of Fine Arts, but have different gender requirements according to different educational stages (academic departments and colleges). In the department stage, only female students are enrolled, while the college stage is open to both men and women.
