Educational system and degree
Penn State University adopts a school system of two semesters in spring and autumn. The autumn semester starts from the end of August to the middle of December, during which there is a week or so of autumn leave in the middle of November. From the middle of December to the beginning of January is about two weeks long winter vacation. The spring semester starts in early January and ends in early May, during which there is a week or so of spring vacation in early March. The summer vacation lasts three and a half months from the beginning of May to the end of August. There are summer courses during the summer vacation, which are divided into three periods, each of which is six weeks (three periods overlap, so they cannot all attend), and students can choose to continue taking credits.
