Why is it difficult to apply to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music? 1. The application for admission in spring and the delivery of recording materials will end in November every year


2. Autumn application includes uploading relevant written records and preselected audio materials

Music instructor recommendation: All applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from music instructors, preferably including the applicant's current private music teacher. It is recommended to submit the recommendation letter by email.

International students: applicants who are not native speakers of English must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.


SAT/ACT standardized test scores


With TOEFL score of 71 or above and IELTS score of 6.0 or above, students must submit official TOEFL or IELTS scores before February 15. Note that this score is not necessarily an admission score. Students must submit qualified test scores before June 1 to be admitted.


4. Application fee: $110, non refundable


Late applications are subject to an additional charge of $50.


The application fee for any students and alumni who have participated in the SFCM program has been reduced by $50.
