DESIGN STUDIO 1:

PERSONAL IDENTITY

This is the first studio course in the master's stage, accounting for 6 credits. The class starts at 9:00 every Monday morning. After watching the introduction of three courses in the first semester, Natural Light thinks that this course is the biggest challenge in the whole semester.

First of all, the focus of this course is personal identity, which is about a student's self cognition, self positioning and thinking. According to the official introduction, it's about deconstruction and reconstruction the thought, to break students' existing thinking, reshape new thinking, force students to abandon the way of undergraduate stage, start to think more deeply, and sublimate the theme and value of the work as a whole.

There are many presentations for the Master of Fashion Design course of Parsons Fashion Design to discuss your own process with you, and at the end of the course, you should hand in a collection of fashion design works, including the explanation of the whole process, renderings, and the final product.

In fact, the third semester has already begun to prepare graduation works. After checking relevant materials and consulting relevant tutors, we came to the conclusion that the third semester is indeed the busiest semester in the whole two years. There are three compulsory courses and one elective course, and we also need to figure out our own graduation works and hand in the general plan. It's not that one class is difficult, but that there are many overall tasks!

Orientation 2 will have a visiting professional designer, that is, a professional designer will come to the workshop with students. (I want to say that Tom Dixon, a giant in industrial design, went to Parsons to take students to do workshops, so the guest should be a big guy!)

Design Studio 3 will cooperate with international design companies, including Diane von Furstenberg, Swarovski, Uniqlo, LVMH and Kering. It is not clear which one of them will cooperate with (but they are all very powerful. All of them are thighs!)

Communication actually focuses on social research. What are your strengths, what are the weaknesses of the industry, and how can your design survive in the fashion industry? This course requires a five year plan and a working portfolio, and the task is also very heavy!
