The admission conditions of the New York Institute of Visual Arts. The undergraduate application of the New York Institute of Visual Arts must graduate from high school, with the IELTS not less than 6.5 or the TOEFL not less than 80. The application materials required to be submitted include motivation statement (about 500 words in length), high school transcripts, language scores (which must be submitted directly by the examination institution to the school admission office), property certificates (issued by the bank), and collections of works with different professional requirements. It mainly includes the following aspects:

   2. Language performance requirements:


Undergraduate applicants should have IELTS no less than 6.5, TOEFL online test no less than 80, computer test no less than 213, and PTE no less than 533. Postgraduates are required to apply for language scores of IELTS 6.5+, TOEFL 79+, PTE53+.

   4. Works collection requirements:


The undergraduate works collection requires to submit sketches that directly observe three-dimensional things, including self portraits (through mirrors), figure sketches, object sketches, still life sketches, landscape sketches, etc., and can include paintings from two-dimensional references, but the number should be as small as possible. Postgraduate portfolios are required to reflect personal artistic background and experience, reflect personal best ability, and do not accept portfolios in the form of website links.


   5. General requirements


Applicable to the following majors: advertising, animation, cartoon, computer art, computer animation and visual effects, pure art, design, illustration, interior design, visual and critical research.


The painting sample is the most important part of the work collection, which can include self portrait, figure painting, object research, scenery and landscape painting. (You can put two references, but not too many.)


The school welcomes color paintings, prints, sketches and collages that can reflect the applicant's sense of color. Three dimensional works exploring composition, light, shape and spatial relations should be submitted digitally, with photos from all angles attached. It can also include design projects and computer-generated pictures, but not too many. Design majors applying for computer category shall submit painting works. A sketch book of recent works can also be attached.
