The art major of the University of Pennsylvania is an interdisciplinary research and exploration channel, integrating a wide range of art production technologies, methods and views. The Fine Arts Department provides various studio courses in the fields of animation and 3D modeling, painting and painting, photography, print media, sculpture, performance and video. The dynamic course of art design at the University of Pennsylvania also provides students with the opportunity to thoroughly examine contemporary art, creative research and public art through seminar teaching. Combining studio practice and seminar courses, art majors emphasize project-based learning, cooperation and interdisciplinary dialogue. Collection requirements:


The collection of pure art works should contain at least 10 different works. Students are strongly encouraged to attach an artist statement of about 300 words.


The undergraduate program of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Pennsylvania provides opportunities for students to learn a variety of arts and design disciplines, including Fine Arts Interdisciplinary Major (FNAR) and Comprehensive Design Major (DSGN). The two majors combine studio teaching, seminar courses and interaction with visiting artists, designers and professionals to provide an open intellectual framework to foster critical awareness and independent research and learning methods. The course emphasizes the understanding of art and design as an exploration tool to respond to social, cultural and environmental challenges.
